NAME: Celery
BREED: Chihuahua Mix
WEIGHT: 10lbs

This little vegetable was found as a stray in Texas. Heartworm negative, spayed, house trained, and friendly... she was someone's dog for sure, but no one came for her. We already had a couple bigger dogs scheduled to be transported to us, so Celery hitched a ride with them and became a PA pup.
Celery is a little nervous meeting new people, but once she warms up she is snuggly and sweet and fun to be with! She is fine with cats and absolutely loves other dogs, so she'll need at least one canine friend in her new home. Like most little dogs, she'll do best in a home with older/respectful children. She walks nicely on leash and rides well in the car. Before leaving Texas, she had a dental cleaning with a few extractions, was treated for a UTI, and had her heart checked. Her heart is a little rounded/enlarged, but she doesn't have a murmur and is asymptomatic for any obvious issues (high vertebral heart scores are not uncommon in small breed dogs).
We don't know what circumstances led Celery to us. We don't know why she was running the streets alone or why her owner didn't save her from the shelter. But we made a promise to her that her days would be filled with nothing but security and happiness from now on. Celery is a great little dog and she's going to make a wonderful addition to a lucky family!
