Hopper seems like a silly name for such a handsome boy, but we can see how he earned it: Although he was nervous about all the dogs in his foster home, it didn't take him more than a few days to warm up, and soon he was "hopping" at them to try to play! Unfortunately everyone here currently is an old stick-in-the-mud, so Hopper is on his own for playtime. We're hoping to find him a home with a buddy who appreciates his jovial personality!
He might be sprouting some gray hairs, but we know Hopper is going to find a home. He's a great dog- house trained, quiet, and calm except for the hopping. We're struggling to get him to eat, but he does seem to enjoy soft treats, cheap kibble, and (no surprise) steak. If you're looking for a dog to spoil, he's the one! He'd most likely hold still for nail painting, or wear a fancy sweater if you can find one in his size. If nothing else, he'll happily accompany you on a walk or car ride, lay on the floor like a bearskin rug, and frighten burglars away (as long as you don't tell them he's sweet and gentle). Please consider giving this lanky boy a second chance!
